An Ikeja Magistrate Court has granted EFCC’s request to further remand Femi Fani-Kayode for 3 weeks following a fresh 30-day remand order, which the former minister’s lawyer opposed on grounds that his client’s fundamental human right was being abused.

Fani-Kayode who served as director of communications for the Goodluck Jonathan/Namadi Sambo 2015 presidential campaign organisation, was relocated to Lagos from Abuja by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further interrogation on the alleged payment of the said N2.5bn to himself and some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as the Goodluck Support Group (GSG) for election campaigns.
