EFCC Detains Former Minister of Interior

Abba MoroComrade Abba Moro, Nigeria’s former Minister of Interior has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Comrade Moro was taken in for questioning, alongside a former Permanent Secretary and a director over N650 million immigration recruitment scandal on Monday.

In March 2014, over 6 million applied for 5,000 immigration jobs, following the nationwide advertisement by the Interior Ministry.

A shoddy process coupled with poor logistics led to concurrent stampedes during the simultaneous tests- leading to the death of several job seekers in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Minna.

Abba Moro and the two other suspects were re-invited by the EFCC ahead of their arraignment in court on Tuesday.
