EFCC Arrests Governor Umahi’s brother over 400m Campaign fund loot

EFCC Arrests Governor Umahi's brother ebonyi workersThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Austin Umahi, David Umahi,Ebonyi State’s Governor’s brother along with two others, Chinyere Egwuche and Mabel Dikibo over a N400 million campaign funds loot of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2015 general elections.

The suspects all staff of Brass Engineering & Construction Nigeria Limited and Osborn La-Palm Royal Resort – had repeatedly turned down invitations by the anti-graft agency.

According to Premium Times report,t Umahi doubles as the chairman of both companies while Chinyere Egwuche and Marbel Dikibo are also signatories to the companies’ accounts.

EFCC Investigations revealed that the N400 Million was released to the said companies by the Director of Finance, PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation, Nenadi Usman, through the Ebonyi State chapter of the PDP for the 2015 presidential election.

Chinyere Egwuche had allegedly withdrawn the N300 million paid into the account of Osborn La-Palm, which according to her was used to finance further the construction of Osborn La-Palm Hotels in Abakaliki, Uburu and Port Harcourt, while the N100 million paid into the account of Brass Engineering and Construction Nigeria Limited was transferred to a certain David Umahi Faith Foundation.

The anti-graft agency further disclosed that the aforementioned companies have been linked to Governor Umahi.
