Building collapse in Kano State University leads to Numerous Injuries

Today, a building under construction at the Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, collapsed injuring many students and workers.

According to a Twitter account from the school, many students and workers lost their lives when proposed building for the Department of Architecture collapsed. see tweets below

According to Premium Times, five persons were injured .

The incident occurred when some students of the institution were reportedly reading in the building which is being constructed by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, an intervention agency in the Nigerian education sector.

Abdullahi Abdullahi a spokesperson for the Institution confirmed the incident.

He however said it was a minor incident and that the school authorities had already taken action on it.

Mr. Abdullahi also denied reports that there was no excavator to evacuate the rubble and that about five of them were drafted to the scene.
