The federal police in Brazil have arrested 10 men as part of an anti-terrorism operation following reports that an ISIS terror cell is plotting a terror attack to disrupt the Rio 2016 Olympics..

Investigators, who identified the group as the greatest threat to the Games, say the men were recruited online and swore allegiance to the terror group with the aim of wreaking havoc at the event, Mirror writes

Though the authorities declined to disclose the specifics of the operation and where it was taking place, sources claim the planned attacks were similar to those seen recently in Orlando, US, and France.

According to The Sun, French investigators found evidence that suggest that the Nice attack may have been originally planned to target fans during the European Championship that held in the country.

The Rio 2016 games begin August 5.
