APC Cancels Bayelsa Governorship Primary Elections

The leadership of the All Progressive Congress has resolved to cancel the Bayelsa Governorship Primary elections which elected Timipre Slyva as the Governorship candidate of the party.

APC Chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, stated on Wednesday, that the primary had been rescheduled.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Odigie-Oyegun said the election had to be rescheduled due to security issues and the violence of Tuesday.

He said: “The primary has been rescheduled; it had to be called off due to security challenges.”

Oyegun added that the leadership of the party would meet to select a new date for the election.
