Watch Lagos Police Commissoner’s Response When Asked About Policemen Extorting Transporters
The ever cool Lagos State Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni lost his cool recently when asked to address the incessant cases of police officers extorting money from road transporters which caused the rise in fares.
The clip shared on Instagram by Goldmyne TV shows the top police official was thoroughly offended when confronted with that question.
“Get it right: don’t exaggerate,” he flared up, “Nigerian police is not what you think. All of you come to say ‘corruption corruption’, [but] how many Nigerian police in this town have been arrested by EFCC?”
He went on to challenge the journalist to mention officers who have been arraigned for building ‘all those mansions’. “You are exaggerating!” he continued, clearly pissed. “The fact that they increased transport fare is not for police (sic).”
His anger could barely be contained.
