Alex Iwobi Ready for Egypt following Traveller’s Diarrhoea Bout

Super Eagles and Arsenal FC forward, Alex Iwobi, has recovered from a bout of ‘diarrhoea’ and has joined up with his teammates ahead of the double-header Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt meant for Friday.

Varying reports had suggested that he suffered from food poisoning while Brila Fm earlier reported he might have received a “Knock” and had been hospitalised.

However, the spokesperson of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye has come out clear that Iwobi is now hail and hearty after the scare.

Reports quoted Samson Siasia, the coach, as saying Iwobi contracted food poisoning after eating salad.

But Ibitoye said: “Alex is sitting with Mikel in the bus on the ride to Kaduna.

“Alex ate lunch with everyone before we left for Kaduna. He and Mikel sat behind me in the bus.

“He did not train with the team this morning because he had what is called traveller’s diarrhoea, reason the coach asked him to rest.

“I can assure you that Alex is going to train with the rest of the team in Kaduna later this evening.”
