AKA announce AKA Scholarship in Sound Production (Details)
Musician and producer, AKA has teamed up with The SAE Institute and Bridges for Music to start up the AKA Scholarship.
The SAE institute which is located in Cape Town, South Africa is a tertiary institution where you can study various courses and degrees in the fields of animation, audio and film while Bridges for Music is a non-profit organization that believes music can bridge the gap existing between different races and wealth classes.
The South African act who has won numerous awards across Africa and has been nominated for awards all across the world said that it is a great honour for him to be in a position to help an inspiring musician/producer/engineer to receive the opportunity to equip themselves with the skills necessary to begin a career in the industry.
He also goes on to say that he still uses the skills in his day to day life that he learnt while he was studying.
The AKA Scholarship will provide tuition for the recipient to complete the full year of a Higher Certificate in Sound Production at the SAE Institute in Cape Town. This course covers all of the different aspects of sound production, studio recording, live sound reinforcement techniques, and studio acoustics to name but a few. Students will also gain experience in music and business management, marketing, and communications.
This scholarship is open to all South African citizens and you need to have a Matric certificate to apply. Applications close on the 30 April 2016 so there is still some time to apply if you are interested. The final decision on the successful candidate will be made by AKA.
