Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan of Taraba Declared Governor

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal of Taraba State sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Governor Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar who heads the tribunal declared the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state, Senator Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan‎, as the bona-fide winner of the April 11 governorship poll in the state.

Aisha Jummai Al-Hassan who has just been cleared as a Minister of the Federal republic is a fulani. A lawyer by training, Aisha Jummai became the first female to be appointed Taraba State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice.

She is the first woman to be appointed as Secretary FCT judicial council and later appointed the Chief Registrar of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. ‎
