Adesola Amosu granted N500 Million Bail

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Adesola Amosu, Nigeria’s former Chief of Air Staff, before a Federal High Court in Lagos today.

The retired Air Marshal was arraigned alongside Jacob Adigun, an Air Vice Marshal, and Gbadebo Olugbenga, an Air Commodore on a 26-count of stealing about 50 billion.

Amosu is being detained by the EFCC over allegations of massive fraud in the procurement of arms during his tenure as Chief of Air Staff.

Amosu is being investigated for authorizing the purchase of two helicopters without functional rotors, among other allegations.

EFCC investigators had reportedly traced nine luxury homes to Amosu, one of which is in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of Ikeja in Lagos State, which is estimated to be more than N350 million.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The judge granted them bail in the sum of N500 million each.
