Abubakar Shekau debunks Sambisa capture in new video
Leader of terrorist group, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, has appeared in a new video dismissing a claim by the Nigerian Army that it has taken over the sect’s stronghold in Sambisa Forest.
According to Shekau, “We are safe. We have not been flushed out of anywhere. And tactics and strategies cannot reveal our location except if Allah wills by his decree,”.
“You should not be telling lies to the people,” he said, referring to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“If you indeed crushed us, how can you see me like this? How many times have you killed us in your bogus death?” he asked.
Shekau who spoke in Arabic in the video shot on Christmas day challenged Nigeria’s army.
President Muhammadu Buhari had announced that the last stronghold of the sect known as Camp Zero in Sambisa Forest had been overridden by the Army.
Reports have it that Boko Haram’s insurgents has killed at least 20,000 and forced some 2.6 million others to flee their homes since 2009.
