Anita Oyakhilome Quits Christ Embassy, Finalise Divorce from Pastor Chris

Anita Oyakhilome’s divorce from the founder of Believers’ LoveWorld Incorporated aka Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome- has been finalised.

According to Anita’s lawyers – Solicitors, Attwaters Jameson Hill – the divorce proceedings were finalised on Monday, February 8.

Filing for divorce in Suit No FD14D01650 on April 9, 2014 at Divorce Section A, Central Family Court, First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, UK, Anita had said, through her lawyers, Attwaters Jameson Hill Solicitors, that the marriage should be dissolved on the basis of “unreasonable behaviour” and “adultery” (inappropriate relationships with members of staff), which Oyakhilome continued to deny.

She also announced her withdrawal from the church – through her lawyers. “We have been requested by Anita Oyakhilome to confirm that on the 8th February 2016 a decree absolute was pronounced in the High Court of Justice Principal Registry of the Family Division dissolving her marriage to Christian Onehirokpeana Oyakhilome,” read a statement issued by the law firm on its website.

Speaking on behalf of Anita, her lawyers revealed that following the conclusion of the divorce proceedings, she has dropped Oyahkilome from her name and will now be addressed as Anita Obhodaghe.

The statement disclosing the developments was published on the website of the law firm.

“We have been requested by Anita Oyakhilome to confirm that on 8th Februray 2016 a decree absolute was pronounced in the High Court of Justice Principal Registry of the Family Division dissolving her marriage to Christian Onehirokpeana Oyakhilome.”

“Anita Oyakhilome would like to confirm that she is no longer involved in or part of Christ Embassy AKA Believers LoveWorld INC.”

Anita filed for a divorce from Pastor Chris in 2014, after it was reported that he had inappropriate relationships with members of his flock.

The pair got married in 1991 and their 23-year union produced two daughters.
