No More Lagos Parties in Public Schools
The commercial capital of Nigeria,Lagos state has banned parties in public school premises. The Lagos state government announcement on a ban on the hosting of parties and other social events on the grounds of public schools was made by the state’s deputy governor, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, who revealed that the government had a plan to turn around education in the state, including private schools too.
“The governor has directed that schools will no longer be used for social activities,”.
“We want to implore members of the public to report any school that violates this directive and we would ensure that defaulting schools are sanctioned accordingly.”
She also added that the government had allocated 17% of its total budget to education, and while the government was ready to partner with private schools, the schools had to be ready to adhere to the set standards.
