Okezie Ikpeazu Gets Kicked Out as Alex Otti is Declared Winner

The Appellate Court sitting in Owerri, Imo state has nullified the election of Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as governor of eastern Nigerian state of Abia.
The court of Appeal in its ruling ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to swear in Dr Alex Otti, candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA) in his place.
The state election tribunal had upheld Ikpeazu’s election in a ruling on 4 November.
Alex Otti, a former banker headed to the appeal court. Ikpeazu will also likely challenge the ruling at the Supreme Court.
