It was all drama as a clash has been reported between supporters of Senate President Bukola Saraki and other protesters who are demanding his resignation. This follows an earlier report that Civil Society Organisations and students stormed the National Assembly Complex on Tuesday to demand the resignation of the Senate President.

Additional demands made by the protesters who identified themselves as the Occupy National Assembly were that the lawmakers revisit some of the grey areas identified in the budget by President Muhammadu Buhari and that senators who had collected their luxury SUVs return them or face the wrath of Nigerians.

What is however not clear is the reason that led to the confrontation but members of both groups were seen tearing banner and placards they had brought.

Security men at the National Assembly intervened but not before both groups had destroyed one another’s protesting paraphernalia.
