Former Kogi Lawmaker Bags 154 Years Imprisonment
In Lokoja, Kogi State, A federal high court on Monday sentenced a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr Gabriel Daudu to 154 Years in prison upon conviction for fraud.
Mr Daudu who was also a former caretaker committee chairman for Ogori/Magongo local government area of the state, was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 208-count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N1.4bn.
The Judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo who presided over the trial found Daudu guilty on 77 counts and therefore sentenced him to two years imprisonment on each count.
EFCC prosecuting counsel, Mr Wahab Shittu, had tendered several documents in evidence and called 13 witnesses to establish his case.
