I’m Done! Isa Yuguda Dumps PDP Again
Former governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda, has called it quits the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The immediate past Governor has been alleged to be one of the PDP Governors who sabotaged former President Goodluck Jonathan at the polls.
Yuguda told journalists on Saturday that he has decided to quit the party which governed the country for 16 years before being kicked out of power by the Muhammadu Buhari led All Progressives Congress.
He, however did not state which party he intends to join.
“Is it relevant to tell you on phone from where I’m speaking?” he asked when queried on which party he has decided to join.
“I want to let you know that as from today I have tendered my resignation from the PDP and I have my personal reasons as to why I took the decision”.
He said the PDP is no longer a party that can take the country to the kind of future that Nigerians are looking forward to, as the party’s leadership composition at the federal level is nothing to write home about.
Yuguda was former minister of Aviation under the Obasanjo regime. He joined the Bauchi gubernatorial race under the PDP but later dumped it for the then All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) when it was obvious he would not win.
After winning the election in May 2007 under the ANPP platform, Yuguda then defected back to the PDP on April 14 2009.
